Adventure Northside, Northest Germany 30 Sept – 3 0ct 2017 – Change of venue!

It may have been only the second edition of the overland/bushcraft show, but having almost run out of space camping and trade stands at Adventure Northside last October in the village of Vethem near Walsrode, North Germany, it became abundantly clear a larger venue had to be found. The event’s organisers Europe Events Ltd. have done precisely this, and what a wonderful new venue it is!

Entitled “Gut Basthorst”, it is a private 600-hectare estate owned by Baron von Ruffin & family. Hosting an assortment of events throughout the year, the venue is located just 30 mins. east of Hamburg – this equates to a catchment area of over 5 million people!!! – in the village of 21493 Basthorst, Northeast Germany. The ambiance of the estate with its historic buildings, stables and cobbled streets will make it unique for 4×4 fair. Capable of accommodating 150+ outdoor & indoor trade stands (the complex boasts a large indoor exhibition space in the rustic barns), 7,000 – 10,000 day visitors, and within the surrounding forest and meadows, hundreds of campers expected this year, the potential for growth is incredible.

The character of the Adventure Northside festival with its seminars & workshops in covered buildings (both included in the admission fee), evening entertainment with live music and relaxed atmosphere is to be preserved.

For youngsters and teenagers there will be “Survival Training” again. This is a weekend full programme of outdoor activities such as archery, axe and knife throwing, tree climbing and shooting.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to either stay overnight in the on-site hotel, or can rent hammocks, glamping-type tents or American Airstream caravans on the huge camping grounds.

In addition to main theme of adventure travel, the exhibition has been extended to include all manner of outdoor pusuits such as hunting – a logical continuation of the off-road, overland, survival and bushcraft exhibition.

To launch this expansion and change of venue, and because Tuesday 3rd of October 2017 is a public holiday in Germany, the fair is to be held over four days this year.

Entrance fees: 12 € adult admission, 24 € / multi-day adult admission. Children up to 16 years old, half price.
